I have been busy working on this embroidery over the last few days.
You can see I have enjoyed playing with the patterns in this landscape.
I have propped it up against the sewing machine so you can get an idea of size.
I do love artist's who use pattern in their work.
One artist that I admire, among many, is John Piper
John Piper designed the Baptistery Window at Coventry Cathedral, a representation of the holy spirit.
If you have time, do look at his gallery of work, he was a man of many talents.

Hi!! thanks so much for the comments you have left recently! I have been a bit of a terible cyber friend.....sorry. Time seems to go so fast, no blog visiting, not much stitching! maybe one day soon I will get the balance right. it's so hard though isn't it?
I hope you are well and in a nice way I am glad you are exhausted too, I AM NOT ALONE!!!!Phew!!
Gorgeous colours. Really great atmosphere.
I love the mystical mood of your little trees...this snow scene has such depth to it too...nice design...balance...colors...
Is there any felting in the top or did you just drag some fibers over the top and top sew them down? Wondering?
A beautiful piece. I love the way you have achieved a snow scene with stitching. It shows much depth, as all your pieces do. Remarkable and inspiring : )
Great piece. I've been following your blog for quite some time and love your work. I too, am an artist who works in wools, silks and threads. You've been the only other I have found on the web. Thanks for sharing!
Exquisite detail M.
I love the straightish lines in this; they lead you all around the picture. Very beautiful
Mmmm...gorgeous! I love the colours and the design of this piece.
Thanks for the link to John Piper, too. I hadn't come across him before and it's great to be led in another direction(isn't that the very best thing about reading blogs??) His "Death in Venice" pieces are very inspiring.
Beautifull embroidery! Hope everything is going well. xx
Very beautiful !!
Once again I am in love, this piece is extraordinary!
I love all the detail in such a small piece. Pulls you right in and keeps you there. Beautiful work!
This latest piece and the art brooch in your last post are my favourites so far, I think. I really love the colours you choose and your landscapes look so realistic. Hope you have a really happy creative weekend. Best wishes, Carolyn xx
