Winter Wonderland

Hawthorn Frost

Hello,
We had the most amazing frosts last week and these few pictures are from our garden.
I wished I had been able to walk through Abbey Fields our local park, as the trees were exceptionally beautiful, a Winter wonderland which I could only glimpse at on my way to work.
Trees covered in frozen tears, sparkling like diamonds against the bluest sky I had ever seen.

I have many stitched pieces I am working on and I am holding back in showing you as I want some surprises for my exhibition next year.
Next week I am going to The Herbert Art Gallery to record a pod cast interview about my work which at some point I hope to share with you here.
I must now get back to my stitching , have a good week and wrap up warm as that cold weather is on it's way back!

Trees For A Mediavel Fair

A moment of calm as I write this blog post, while sipping my camomile tea.
I seem to have endless things to do and little time to do them.
The weather is warm and humid and this morning we took our dog out before it got too hot.

He is now snoozing, I just had to share this picture.

I have been busy stitching for the Mediavel Fair in Stratford-Upon-Avon which is next Saturday.
These little trees I hope will find new homes and I have also made printed cards of my larger embroidery pieces, I will add a few to my etsy shop.

Thank you Kaye of Stitching Life who purchased one of my trees to add to her lovely sketch book.

Now it's back to drawing....more soon.

From Paint To Threads

I have been working from my sketch book again this week.

You can see how my threads become my sketches or is it my sketches become my threads?

My work can alter as I move between the two mediums.

I may still add more stitches to this piece.

Tomorrow I am helping to set up the A'level and community artist's work for our annual art exhibition.

So this may be used in the display.

It's count down to the end of the school term and it's going to be a busy week.

I hope I will be able to share some of the exhibition work with you.

Surreal Embroidery

Here are some more colourful trees I have been working on for the exhibition.

I have been dip dying various wool pieces, I'm always excited at seeing the variety of colours I can get by using just a few colours.

I have worked in some lovely old silk threads on these little trees.

On Monday I will be in Stratford to help get the exhibition ready, it starts on Tuesday 9th of June.

How quickly that date has come around!

I'm just a touch nervous, hoping it will be enjoyed.

I must say thank you to Annabel Rainbow because without her I would not have been able to take part and she will be manning it with her friend and fellow artist Annabel Shirt.

I won't be there until the Saturday and the Sunday.

I promise to take lots of pictures.

Tree Movement

I have just finished this tree and I wanted you to see it's movement and energy.

When we get home from school we put the kettle on, catch up on each others day and my daughter makes me a cup of tea.

This is a good time to upload some pictures and to fit in a bit of sewing.
