A Mural For Kenilworth

In the Summer I spent time painting a mural for Clinton Primary school in Kenilworth.

This large area is their new art zone with several music rooms leading from it. I wanted to paint the landscapes that inspire me, the ones from my own childhood memories, the landscapes in Warwickshire and the changing seasons.

I hope these murals will inspire the children in art, music, dance and poetry.







From Stitching To Painting

I thought I would get back to some painting this week, again working from studies I made around Kenilworth in my sketch book.
This is quite large, A1 size, so I used a big brush with plenty of inks and water colour.

Today at 6.00am I crawled out of bed to take our dog Bertie for a walk through Abbey Fields.

It was a sunny morning and I had to take some pictures to share with you.

This time of year is so beautiful, new green fresh leaves, the smell of newly mown grass and the warmth of the early morning sun.

I also have been stitching these new colourful brooches with some vivid silk threads, how I love the colours!

We have school half term holidays next week, yipee!

I think the dog may have to get used to sleeping in!

Today we were out in the bitter cold, taking our dog Bertie for a walk across the fields.

Need to walk off all those Christmas calories!

Our walk takes us past Kenilworth Castle , we are so lucky to live near such a beautiful historic Castle.

If you ever come to Warwickshire you should visit.

I have been working on a few bits of embroidery, a dancing figure and another tree brooch.

I do hope to get back to a bit of painting and drawing this week, my husband gave me an easel for Christmas!
