Working For The Exhibition

Another piece finished, smaller this time 28cm by 36cm although when framed it will be of course larger.
Inspired by the trees, near a small village where I live, their beautiful roots exposed and entwined.

I have a very busy a week ahead with school, I am working with the A'level art students which is very exciting for me.
There are lots of new displays to put up and many projects to sort out, not to mention all the stitching I have to do when I get home!
My children also start back and for one of them it will be their GCSE year, how did that come around so quickly?

Bye for now M x

I love this one - we have lots of trees around our rivers here with exposed roots - that you can make it so powerful with a sewing machine is wonderful.

This piece is wonderful, truly. I love trees and to show their graceful roots is quite whimsical.

Beautiful piece. I have seen banks of trees like that in Dorset. I always think they feel magical as your embroidery is.

Movement and light and wonderful trees. Wish I could come to the exhibition when it opens... alas.. a little too far this time!

I think you have captured some of the magic of trees that I experience when I am near them . Very nice work .

What beautiful movement, its amazing what you have accomplished with your sewing machine.
Back to classes tomorrow for me, wish we lived closer so you could visit my high school art students. Thank goodness I can show them your blog.

Lieve groetjes,
Joke.

such beautiful work. I know what you mean about the kids getting older, last time I looked mine were only 3!!! now they're trying to tell me they are in their twenties!! Impossible, that makes them older than me!!!!
