If you have been following my blog, you will know I have been working for months on a very large embroidery.
At last it is completed and I picked it up from the framers this week.
I felt very nervous because it was so difficult to choose the right colour mount and frame and I knew this was crucial to the piece.
When I saw the frame and deep box mount I was delighted, but then shock as I realized they had framed it back to front!!
All that work and I thought it had been ruined and how could they think the back was the front?
Luckily it was all sorted out but I did have to go back and collect it the next day.
I was very relieved to see that no damage had been done.
Another small textile brooch to show you with a mix of applique and stitch, I am enjoying using different fabric prints.
Have a great weekend and happy creating.x

Gosh, That must have been a scary moment! It looks fantastic though.
Perhaps the back of yoru work is just as neat as the front? :)
It looks fab, didn't realise it was so big, certainly alot of work in it.
What a heart stopping moment you had, glad it all turned out okay.
Lovely to see it finished and framed, well done.
It looks wonderful... Would love to see it close up. Your stitching in the back must be amazingly neat if they thought that was the front. A real testament to your craftsmanship.
I don't think I have ever seen your work in such large format. It is fabulous and looks wonderful framed. Glad you got your situation with the framer straightened out !
Lovely framed...is it under glass or without?
I guess we frame them to preserve them, but I love seeing the texture up front and personal.
I too bet your work is equally beautiful front and back...and also wouldn't be surprised if the framer was just not that aware...even if he/she should have been.
Hi,Yes this is behind glass for an exhibition.
I will post some close up pics as the glass is set away from the embroidery in the box mount.
I know what you mean Lynn.
Thanks everyone for your comments.x
Its fantastic. I am so glad that it ended up the right way round in the end.
Your large piece is amazing ... well done. As for the mishap with the framing, thank goodness no damage was done. Always a white knuckle moment when you leave your work with someone.... no matter how competent you expect them to be.
That must have been a nightmare! It's looking fabulous and I've think you've got the colouring etc exactly right. Good luck for the exhibition..I'd love to come along and see it.
Hi Kayla, the end result is stunning...bit of a heart in the mouth moment at the framers eh?
This work has so much movement in it! Glorious!

All's well that ends well, at least you had the chance to sort out the problem.
It looks wonderful framed, will you be doing any more big pieces?
It looks great!
I think I can imagine your shock...
Love your brooch
Just goes to show how neat it must be if the back was as good as the front :)

Oh goodness, what a relief that no damage was done after all the love and hours you poured into your beautiful piece!
Love your smaller stitched piece too, it has a homespun charm ... lovely!
Your work looks stunning framed, though i cant imagine how awful it must have felt to get it returned back to front.
another lovely brooch! And I am glad the framing was sorted!

WOW.
Thank goodness the mistake was sorted out easily.
It's absolutely stunning work.
The picture looks absolutely fantastic.
kayla I have just discovered your work, and it is absolutely stunning...all this with a sewing machine...and to think I hate my sewing machine...prefer doing embroidery by hand...what I have been missing out on.!
I have seen some pictures made with felt, but yours takes the prize. You deserve all the accolades you get.
