Patterns In The Landscape

Hi,

Here are some of my flower brooches I have been busy sewing, for a lovely shop in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
I needed some bright colours as a contrast to the grey miserable weather we have here.

You may need sun glasses for this post as I also have another addition to my tree series.
Bright tomato red silk on a turquoise wool background.
A few more stitches and it will be completed.

I always seem to have several things on the go at once, I jump from one thing to another.
It stops me getting bored and it's good to have a break.
Sometimes I get so excited by an idea, I leave what I'm working on and start a new project...and in the process my usual chaotic mess.
This leads me on to this experimental piece, Patterns In Landscapes.
I hope to explore this in my work as I am instinctively drawn to patterns in almost anything I look at.
Thank you so much for all the encouraging comments they are very much appreciated.x

The red and turquoise is fabulous isn't it? And I love the flowers ... and the top piece is just ... *sigh* ... so clever.

I love the first piece particularly. I'll also keep my eyes open for your flowers next time I'm in Stratford! Do you dye/colour your own felt?

Just found your blog via 'Bloggers who embellish' and I fell in love with your work immediately!

Now I have just spend a few hours going through your old posts and seeing such inspiring work. From what I can gather you are self taught in that your didn't go to art school.

Will be looking on a regular basis now.
