I Wish I Could Fly

I have had quite a busy few days, stitching these little trees.
Also I have visited the Edward Burne-Jones exhibition at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery Edward Burne-Jones-Perseus Series
The museum has, in addition, many Pre-Raphaelite paintings.
The stories behind the paintings are fascinating, you can read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-Raphaelite_Brotherhood
Inspired by my visit, I have started on my own winged creature.
Hope to bring you more soon, have a great weekend.

That winged creature is beautiful. I used to be passionate about the PRB - I'm off to read the stories behind the paintings. Thanks for the link x

Hello I have only just discovered your blog and am overwhelmed by your talent, I just love the embroidery at the top of your page. What fabric did you use and was it space dyed. I hope you do not mind me asking but I just think it is amazing .Warmest wishes

The little trees are gorgeous and your postcards are so good - they don't look as though they have been printed.

Hello,
Thank you all for your positive comments.
Shirley, was not sure how to contact you as could not find your email address.
Thank you for your lovely comment.
I made the piece using scraps of silk patterned fabrics and just stitched over the top.
Michala xx

Manchester Art gallery also has a good Pre-Raphaelite collection if you are ever up North? It also has the Whitworth Art Gallery where you can see textiles, I am sure you would like both.
