Snow Brooch And Sketches

Hello,
I thought you may like to see a few sketches I made at the weekend and a new tree brooch, listed on etsy today.
It was bitterly cold here, perfect for staying indoors and stitching.
I did venture out on Saturday, to a work shop at the Embroiderers guild in Leamington Spa.
We experimented with transfer dyes, painting and stenciling, then ironing the dyes from the paper on to different types of synthetic fabrics including fine nets and lace.
It was a very interesting day and I came home with lots of samples, of which I still need to photograph.
Today we had a little more snow but it has not been quite as cold, and it looks like we are over the worst of it here.
Hope you have a good week.x

Looks like you had fun over the weekend. Your sketchbook drawings are beautiful.
I was wondering if you ever took a course with Linda or Laura Kemshall? "Design Matters"
I've been a fan for years and get their monthly newsletter. Wish I lived closer so I could take a workshop with them.

Just had to stop by and say how exquisite your drawings are. I look at your blog often and am often struck but wanted to say how just beautiful they are.

The sketches are beautiful and the snowy brooches quite topical. The workshop sounded good fun.
We had about 8-9 inches of snow.

I often wonder when an artist has a style and does the same thing over and over if they can really get any better, then I saw your banner and YES, you do keep getting better and better! Wow!

So pretty. Well Done.
We are still in the grip of the coldest weather in years here. Hoping for a little warmth tomorrow.

It's been fairly cold here as well but luckily we're in for a warming trend for the next couple of days. Lovely brooch

Have come to you via Hensteeth - you seemed from your comment to be not unlike me you see but having visited think I probably am much more distractable - there's loads of things you've done while I've been thinking...

Well I suppose it cannot get any colder even in Cornwall.
Enjoyed your latest blogs, snow, brooches and sketches.
Great to see the inspiration and influence of the Warwickshire snowy fields have on your work.

I definitely think it's getting warmer. It will soon be time for you to change your colour palette to spring greens instead of ice whites!
