If Craft Matters To You

Hi

I had an email today from the Craft Council.
It wants to know why craft is important to you.
It sounds like a very interesting project that you could be apart of.
This is also a very good website to see beautiful crafts from leading designers in the UK.

Craft matters to me because quite simply its my life, sounds a bit dramatic but it's true.
It is my living and my social life.
It brings people together, gives me inspiration and Its a way I can express myself.
Its the best sort of therapy.
Happy stitching.x

I will look at the Crafts Council link in due course. But right now, why does craft matter to me? It is my escape, my lifeline, a left-brain / right brain interlude between work and what I have been searching for in my 72 years (though only since the age of about five). Art and Craft has somehow escaped me, and I feel undernourished and bereft.

Thank you for the link, I too have signed up. My stitching was great therapy when my son was killed in a car crash.

It does matter - very much!
Whether Im crafting or painting, the reasons are the same, it balances me, it fills up that space inside me, it lets me take wonderful adventures which leads to amazing people, inspiration and opportunity. I couldn't NOT create - I would curl up and whither away in a corner ;)

Im off to check the link.

Good question... All I know is it's my link to my sanity. I'd be lost without it, and fear I'd never find my way home, back to whoever it is that I truly am.

Christmas visit to Rugby in December. We always pop into the Art Gallery so will be looking out for your work.
Art and Craft have always been my best friends, always there for comfort. Also I have made lots of true friends who are on the same wavelength as me.

I signed the craft matters form before I read your statement and then I read it and mine is almost the same but written differently. All the elements are the same.Isn't that fascinating?
