Festive Threads

As to not bore you with my large piece again, which as you know is still in progress, here in contrast is a very small tree.
A dainty little Christmas tree brooch on a rich, red woolen ground.

I also thought you may like to see this wooden bobbin stand which my Mum found for me last week.
It says on the bottom of it "Worsted Bobbin Flange ex Calder Valley Mills Nr Manchester ( circa 1913)".
It was supposed to be a Christmas present but my Mum couldn't wait!

Nexi would love a bobbin holder like that! It's really interesting to see your studio - it looks very organized.

I love how the large piece of work is developing - really atmospheric!

Oh wow! Your Christmas tree has suddenly become my most favourite piece, after my silver tree of course ;o)

I not only love your bobbin holder but your vintage cotton reels are wonderful. Where do you find them??

Good Day, I think your vintage thread holder is truly fantastic. I lovely gift indeed. I also love the beginnings of the Christmas Tree brooch. I made a Christmas Tree PC I just posted to my blog too if you would like to visit. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hugs Judy

Love that bobbin stand - us embroiderers are so easy to buy for - I think we would all enjoy just a box full of various threads, don't you.

I love the little tree.

What a clever find from your mum. I have a bit of a thing about wooden bobbins, and buy them when I see them for sale, usually large ones with linen thread for bookbinding. I have never seen a bobbin holder before though.

what a beautiful picture . No wonder your mum couldn't wait for Christmas to give you the thread stand. I'm very envious.
